Another solid weekend of golf! The PGA Championship finished strong with another first time winner. Jason Dufner redeemed himself at the PGA Championship by winning his first major. You may recall that Dufner lost to pal Keegan Bradley in a playoff back in 2011. Dufner’s got to have ice in his veins. If he missed a shot, he didn’t show it. If he made a shot, he didn’t show it. Mr. Dufner is one cool customer when it comes to golf a deserved to win the event in the end. Furyk made things interesting to say the least, but simply couldn’t catch Dufner.
While all this was happening, I ventured out to Kitchener for their annual blues festival. It was great to meet some new people and see some familiar faces. Speaking of festivals…The 15th Annual Southside Shuffle is happening in Mississauga at Memorial Park from September 6-8. You can expect a fantastic lineup of blues musicians straight from the the Delta. Check out www.southsideshuffle.com for more information. Hope to see you there! If you can’t make it out to the Shuffle, the Wasaga Beach Blues Festival kicks off September 13th. The weekend long event will have some of the best Blues musicians from all around the globe.
Last but not least, I want to thank the SKAL Toronto Chapter for a great golf tournament yesterday at Lionhead. The Traveling Golfer team of yours truly – Claudio DeMarchi along with Sid Thompson, Kyle Weston, and Patricia Bandurka won the event!
