To follow one great idea up with another is no easy task but Geoff Tait has hit an untouched market with his latest idea and is offering golfers a triple bogey they will enjoy.
Triple Bogey Brewing Company – the brainchild of Geoff Tait, formerly the president/co-founder of trendy apparel brands Quagmire and Arnie – is making some serious moves into golf courses in Ontario just as the season gets into full swing. Triple Bogey was founded in 2013 and brewed in Toronto Ontario at Great Lakes Brewery under the watchful eye of Tait.
After searching to find out what sort of beer golfers enjoyed most the boys at Triple Bogey came up with a lager that is cool, crisp, and easy drinking. In other words, it is the perfect beverage to enjoy during those hot summer days on your favorite patio or on holes 1 through 19!
The light-tasting lager is now available in nearly 100 golf facilities and bars/restaurants including Toronto Hunt Club, Westmount Golf and Country Club, Redtail, Taboo Resort and a former host of the RBC Canadian Open, Angus Glen Golf Club.
The beer is not just available at golf courses though, patrons of the trendy Rock Lobster in Toronto can already enjoy Triple Bogey, and the iconic Real Sports Bar & Grill will begin carrying it in July 2014.
“I couldn’t be more excited for how things are going so far,” said Tait. “It was a long winter for golfers and golf courses across the province, but now that the season is finally here, people are loving our Lager and we are giving golfer’s something to be excited about. A beer for the everyday golfer and golf enthusiast; it has been awesome!”
Although the beer will start being distributed in Ontario for 2014, Triple Bogey is looking to expand across Canada and into the USA in 2015. We can also expect to enjoy other types of Triple Bogeys as Geoff plans to include a light beer, a darker lager and others into the stable.
In a recent article and video story package in the Globe & Mail Tait said that the reception to Triple Bogey has been “unbelievable.”
Tait has been working with the LCBO as well and it should be on the shelves in a couple of weeks, a perfect gift for Father’s day! He’s positive it’s the first time beer-drinkers will enjoy getting a triple bogey off the golf course (as well as on)! He has received hundreds of emails asking when it will be available.
With Tait having a strong background in fashion the Triple Bogey brand is not just about the beer, there is also a high quality clothing aspect. The gear will continue to be available online at www.triplebogey.com and in some great pro shops in Ontario. Tait claims the gear is secondary to the beer but will help market and advertise the brand as well as give people affordable fun things to buy in the pro shop or on-line this season without breaking the bank.
Geoff is not shy to admit his excitement for this new endeavor and others are just as enthused looking to get involved however they can. Many Canadian golf professionals have reached out to Triple Bogey looking to get involved with the brand and Tait believes that is something he wants to do with the brand. “I definitely want to do that. It doesn’t have to be Canadian guys either. I mean any PGA Tour player could be a great ambassador. Why not? Exposure is the key. You need the right guys out there wearing it and representing it,” Tait said.
The quick success has not gone unnoticed by people outside of golf. Tait announced that Olympic gold medal-winning curler Jennifer Jones, along with fellow Canadian curling superstars Glenn Howard and Brent Laing have come aboard as investors in the company.
“Jennifer and I couldn’t be more excited to be involved with Triple Bogey! It’s a great beer that evolved from a passion for the great game of golf and how it is meant to be enjoyed. We cannot wait to see where this adventure takes us.” Said Laing
With the beers slogan “Better Hit Another” A Triple Bogey has never been so easy to swallow. Tait says he has never been so happy and is so grateful for all the support not just in Ontario but throughout North America. “Triple Bogey is the new Quagmire” says President Geoff Tait. “Building Quagmire was a great experience, we had a lot of fun, and very good run but, unfortunately, due to a partnership stalemate it had to be abandoned. It was a real shame to also lose the Arnie brand, but it was definitely an invaluable opportunity to work with Mr. Palmer and his team. That being said, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. It’s time to apply all of things I’ve learned to Triple Bogey. And why not? … Triple Bogey incorporates three of my favourite things – Beer, Golf and Fashion. It really is exciting to be back in the game and calling my own shots once again.”
The Triple Bogey van can now be seen shipping deliveries all across Ontario and Triple Bogey will be ready to hit golfers and beer enthusiasts alike this spring.
