Two exceptional New Zealand golf courses – Cape Kidnappers and Kauri Cliffs have been named in the top 50 of US Golf Digest’s “World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” 2016-2017 rankings.
Cape Kidnappers is ranked #16 and Kauri Cliffs #49. Both North Island courses are owned by Julian Robertson and family and are the only two courses in New Zealand to make the Top 50.
Cape Kidnappers in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand was designed by the legendary Tom Doak. The course has been hailed as one of the great modern marvels of golf.
Kauri Cliffs in Northland, New Zealand was designed by the late David Harman and boasts fifteen holes with Pacific Ocean views, six of which are played alongside cliffs which plunge to the sea.
Both Cape Kidnappers and Kauri Cliffs golf courses are set on picturesque 6000 acre New Zealand sheep and cattle farms. The awarded courses are jewels in the crown of their respective Relais & Chateaux properties – The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs and The Farm at Cape Kidnappers.
