You all know that I love my wine, love to eat, and when I am not traveling I rarely miss Wing Night at my favorite local pub – The Beaver & Bull Dog here in Collingwood.
Unlike my counterpart Big Dog who needs to get his golf game in shape I have a number of workouts that when I am home I practice religiously, just so as to not add to many inches to my shape while indulging. These routines are good for you but are great for your golf game.
The better shape you’re in and flexibility is so important the better you will play! Here is what I like to do!
My #1 addiction is Total Gym, advertised on the Golf Channel forever, made famous by the beautiful Christie Brinkley who continues to grace the pages of Sports Illustrated at 63 years young and with the unflappable Texas Ranger, King of Kung Fu, Chuck Norris.
I personally will tell anyone who cares to listen that Total Gym is the best piece of exercise equipment ever. After 10 years of at least 2 workouts per week I am proud to say that I need to replace the cables!
There are so many workouts available with options of daily routines of just under 10 minutes. I personally like to do 6 of these 10 minute workouts and run them together for a full body workout in an hour. Videos are included and of course there’s always YouTube! www.totalgymdirect.com
Who has not bought a yoga ball and then done nothing with it? Yup, I was one of those too. Then I decided to see what kind of workouts there might be on YouTube. Found one that I really like, great ab workout with an attractive lady by the name of Rosalie Brown. It just so happens that Rosalie is the women’s workout girl (lady really) on the Total Gym video. Hmmmmm!
To look at me you would never picture me doing downward dogs or cobra poses but I do! I am a Yoga Boy. Not the fluffy Pilates type though, I just like to do the basic yoga that works on your core and stretching.
Not that difficult, relaxing and you just feel soooooo good once finished. There are so many online options you will find something that you are comfortable with.
NEW Addition to my workouts………..SIMPLY FIT BOARD
Here is a workout with a twist, thousands of them in fact! You may have seen it on Shark Tank where Shark Lori Grenier bit into this one! I just got myself one of these a few weeks ago and already I’m so glad I did. It’s fun, easy and effective and of course comes with videos to help you along! Stand on the board and twist away, you can add some small 3 – 8lb weights to enhance the workout. Tones abs, legs and core while improving balance.
I am already past the intro sessions and ready to move on to the next level. You will never guess who the workout person is on the next level of Simply Fit …none other than Rosalie Brown. https://www.simplyfitboard.com
So who is this Rosalie Brown person, she’s everywhere, she’s everywhere!!!! I had been working out with her on videos for years on my Total Gym, even into Yoga Ball, and I had no idea that she is one of the most influential personal trainers in Canada. I always figured that since Total Gym was out of California that she was a Caly Girl!
I guess I don’t watch enough of The Shopping Channel as it seems that she is a regular there with products such as Lag Magic, Maxi Climber and of course Simply Fit Board and Total Gym.
For me working out with the Rosalie videos has been fun, challenging and enthusiastic. I guess there is a reason as to why she has worked with celebrities and professional athletes including singer Paula Abdul, boxer Lennox Lewis, actress Suzanne Somers, gymnast Mitch Gaylord, everyone’s favorite business woman from Shark Tank Lori Greiner, and hockey great Bobby Hull. Check her out you will be in better shape for it!
