Red, Red Wine…fall is coming and the shift is on…
But not without stocking up on some pre dinner bubbles….
Val d’Oca Processo DOGG – $19.10
This is one Prosecco that you can drink every day! Golden colour, refreshing, medium body, full of flavours!
Ricasoli Brolio Chianti Classico – $23.95
Nice medium to full bodied Chianti – Sangiovese blend Cabernet and Merlot. It was an Easter treat at my brother Ed’s home, brought by wine connoisseur Michael A. Rich in colour and a wonderful aroma. From one of the oldest wine producing estates in Italy. The Ricasoli name has been linked to Brolio since 1141. Yes 1141!
Tommasi Il Sestante Valpolicella Ripasso 2014 – $18.95
This is one solid wine from a very reliable Italian wine family! Deep red in colour with captivating aromas. Rich and full bodied on the palate – my kind of wine! A steal at under 20 bucks.
Pietra Pura Mandus 2016 – $18.95
Here is one that you can stock up because you will never get tired of it! Nice ruby red color with intense aromas of black cherry and plum. Full body, a little spicy and a great finish.
Ironstone Cabernet Savignon – 2016 – $17.95
This is one name, and at that price, that I like to drink now and also put down for a few years and let it raise its own bar. Full bodied with dark berry flavours, coffee and vanilla smoothness. Never disappoints.
ONE & DONE
Jim Jim Shiraz 2014 – $16.95
My friend Jim brought this to a dinner party. He liked the name, wonder why?! He thought I might like the doggy on the label! The doggy wasn’t that cute and the wine – well it kind of sucked! Do yourself a favour and just skip this one.
