Earthy with black cherry, raspberry and a touch of smoky eucalyptus are the resulting characteristics of an abnormally cool, wet 2016 growing season in Central Chile. While this perennial value wine (it doesn’t hurt that it’s organically grown either) might be a little leaner than usual, its slightly heightened acidity helps make it a good food pairing. —TM
