Here’s what we have been tasting… or just plain old drinking!!

Santa Margherita Brut  Val-dobbiadene Prosecco Superior – $19.95, Italy

With Christmas coming you will not have enough of this around.  Prosecco, that if you don’t know, you might think you are drinking Champagne!  At $19.95 this must be the best value in bubbles.  Light fruity flavours but rich and smooth going down.

Wente Riva Ranch Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2017 – $27.95, California

I don’t normally pay this much for white wine but I have never been disappointed by anything from Wente and now I have learned that you get what you pay for.  From California’s “First Family of Chardonnay” you have a smooth, creamy full bodied Chardonnay.

Tom Gore Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 – $19.95, California

Another family of wines that rarely disappoints and I probably don’t drink enough of!  Medium to full bodied, a little hint of smokiness and on the dry side.  A classic Cab I had with a nice medium rare steak!

1000 Stories Bourbon Barrel Aged Zinfandel 2015 – $29.95, California

The label alone captured my attention.  1000 Stories, I have at least that many!  How can you go wrong with anything Bourbon Aged?  And a Buffalo pic for us animal lovers!  A little on the pricier side for everyday drinking but credit to the winemaker for this small batch selection aged in bourbon barrels.

Have this on any special occasion, definitely a rich smooth structure a hint of smoke, some vanilla and caramel (another favourite).  Have this with something a little on the spicy side!

Blanton’s Original Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey 2011 – $69.95, Kentucky (where else) USA

Smooth over a nice big ice rock! Vanilla and caramel flavors.  Individually selected, filtered and bottled by hand and recorded.  Bottle #202, from barrel #952.

Christmas is coming!
